We hope to start the Reuter scheme as soon as a reply is

received from home.

The estimated monthly cots of issuing the bulletins and trans-

lation into Chinese is $3,819.00. We have been promised 70

subscribers at $20 a month which will bring in $1,400.00 a

month. We therefore to be on the safe side are estimating

for a possible monthly deficit of $2,419.00 or in round

figures $2,500,00 a month,

Of course every subscriber we get in addition to the 70 men-

tioned will reduce this lose by $20 a month. If we were to

get 191 subscribers we should notmake any loss. In case of

emergency we prefer at present to estimate for a loss of

$2,500.00.

We have now 6 story tellers who have an aggregate monthly

audience of about 21,000 persons. We hope shortly to increase

the number of story tellers to 10. The estimated monthly

cost of these story tellers is $450.00.

Mr. Iso is arranging to print leaflets in the very simplest

Chinese for distribution by the story tellers. The cost of

printing 30,000 leaflets a month will be about $100,

We hope to bring out a supplement to the book of war Stories.
